Citrine carries the power of the sun. It is a stone of radiance and abundance.  It is one of the few stones that never needs cleansing or clearing.  The energy of citrine transmutes negative energy and burns it away.  Citrine can often be found in two forms – natural and heat treated.  Natural citrine has a brownish-yellow tint to it.  Heat treated citrine is bright yellow.  

Like the sun, heat treating citrine does not alter its energetic properties.  Whenever you need to burn away negative energy, place citrine in your environment.  It’s also good to have around when the days are cold and dreary as it energetically brings in warmth and light.

Citrine is associated with the 3^rd Chakra – The Solar Plexus.  The solar plexus is the seat of your personal power and will.  Citrine allows that power to shine through.  When you doubt yourself, wear citrine.  When you need to complete an activity and you are not sure if you have the strength, wear citrine.  If you have an interview or a presentation that requires personality to shine through, yes, wear citrine. If you feel your will faltering, wear citrine.

Citrine is a stone of intellectual knowledge (as opposed to wisdom – which is associated with Amethyst.)  Knowledge is what we learn, wisdom is what we do with what we learn.  If you are working on a project that requires a clear mind, put Citrine in your environment or wear it.  I like to keep Citrine by my computer when I am writing.  It reminds me where to dot the I’s and cross the t’s. Citrine enhances concentration.  It burns away the cobwebs and shines a bright light on what you need to do.   If you have a project that is difficult to start, use a piece of citrine and a piece of carnelian.  The carnelian will guide you into forward motion and the citrine will allow you to concentrate on what you are doing.

As a stone of abundance, Citrine recalls the origins of abundant behavior as we evolved into clans. In the tribes of the first peoples, survival of the group meant a future where everyone had what they needed. If one family needed food, others shared. This ”having what you need to survive” energy of Citrine bends the web of the whole community and what is needed is received. This energy may manifest as cash money or a meal. (Aeolus)

If everyone stood front to back all the way around the world, Citrine’s Energy is the hoop of Golden Light energy that connects us all energetically through the Solar Plexus. As well as allowing you to receive abundance, this mineral also shows you where in your life you can give back to the whole, increasing someone else’s abundance.  When you hold a piece of Citrine, you are telling the Universe where to deposit this abundance.

Citrine is sometimes referred to as “The Merchant’s Stone” because of its history of being placed in cash drawers to increase sales.

Citrine changes negative energy to positive. It never needs cleansing and is an example of a crystal that cleanses and clears other stones from negative energy.  With Citrine, you are getting a crystal that does double duty.
